QUALLS

Mike was raised in a proud military family, with three siblings and they eventually landed in Austin Texas.  Mike grew up in a middle-class neighborhood and enjoyed a great childhood, including sports, local parks and endless green belts to explore.  Mike excelled in sports and focused on baseball into early adulthood.  Mike graduated high school and received a full ride to play at The University of Alabama, where he earned honors as All District NCAA and All SEC Tournament Team, in 1986. Mike played one year of minor league in the Northwest League, then decided to leave baseball and focus on his professional business life.  Mike has worked with same group of colleagues for 32 years and helped establish a premier business service provider in Texas.  Mike and Joye were married in 1993 and have three children, Mackenzie, Keaton and Luke. Mike now enjoys hiking & flyfishing in Colorado, his garden, his church and family. This book was something Mike was compelled to do, as he felt there were few resources for families to address this issue.  He felt that this story might save one dad, one kid or maybe even a family from destruction, and that it would be worthwhile.

Luke took his first dance class at age five. He fell in love and focused on dance throughout his youth but also played basketball, football, tennis, baseball, and track when he could fit it in. He competed at dance conventions including NYCDA and Tremaine. He was named National Teen Male Dancer of the Year for Tremaine Dance Conventions in 2015. His Junior year he was accepted to Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX. Upon graduation, he was accepted to The Juilliard School in New York City and The University of Southern California in

Los Angeles among many others.  He chose USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance to continue his education and dance training.  Fight On!
